Pilgrims' Way is a beautiful late 18th century cottage. The upper apartment is the perfect base for a beach, walking, wildlife or golfing holiday. You can walk to the beach in under a minute without crossing any roads. Elie is one of the very attractive historic villages of the North East Fife coast, known as the East Neuk (Neuk meaning “corner.”) The house takes its name from the many pilgrims who in the middle ages made the often treacherous crossing over the Forth by ferry to walk to St. Andrews , to pray at the cathedral where the relics of Saint Andrew were kept.
Elie boasts lots of activities - golf, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, tennis and many more – for all ages, and an award winning beach. There are children's clubs on the beach during school holidays. It also lies on the newly completed Fife Coastal Path - 117 miles of beautiful coastline from the Rivers Forth to Tay, with some of the most interesting geological features Scotland has to offer.

Elie is one of the most highly regarded courses in Scotland and the historic links terrain effortlessly combines undulating fairways with large, fast and firm greens. Indeed, Peter Thomson, winner of five Open Championships, calls Elie a jewel amongst Scotland’s elite courses, and says: “It’s quirky and it’s the most enjoyable course I know. If I had my way I’d build Elies all over the world.”

Fife Coastal Path
The Fife Coastal Path stretches for 117 miles. The path is clearly waymarked and offers a range of walking experiences from the easy and level, to the wild and demanding. Whether done in bit sized chunks or as a long distance route there is definitely something for everyone. The website is an excellent source of information and route maps. The section from Lower Largo to Pittenweem, which takes in Elie, is particularly enjoyable. It includes the option of doing the Chain Walk. More of an adventure than a walk, this is a scramble round a beautiful but rugged section of coastline, where chains have been built into the cliffs in order to help walkers navigate the tricky stretches.
